One thing I like about snow is the silence that surrounds it. When snowflakes fall, city noises fade and disappear.
Meditation is like that. When you sit in silence the noise in your mind can fade. It can even disappear 🙂 Personally, I like a quiet mind. I’m happy to sit down and disappear.
I know it can be hard letting go of thoughts and emotions. Some days our minds are restless, filled with grocery lists, daydreams, and vacation plans. Other days it’s our emotions, a demanding boss, a reckless driver, a sick child.
Meditation is a place to rest. To let go of everything. Worries, doubts, pain, guilt, fear, frustration, hatred and rage. Try it now:
Let go, and follow your breath,
For a few minutes or more.
Watch the world fade away, then watch it disappear.
Take a deep breath in, and a deep breath out.
Rest in silence. Relax and breathe.
Your life will still be there when you come back. So will the problems and challenges of the world.
You will be different. A little quieter. A little calmer. More kind. You can change your world with awareness, one breath at a time.
All the best,
